Justin Kennedy Interview(LA Native)

We recently sat down with the owner and creator of LA Native and how he started as a company and what he has coming for you guys in the future

Who are you and what are you all about?
-I’m Justin Kennedy. I’m a 16 year old clothing designer/owner.
Where are you originally from?
-I’m from Los Angeles, California. Born and raised.
How was LA Native created?
-I always wanted to send a positive message and set a trend for teens in urban neighborhoods. As a native of Los Angeles, I wanted to show everyone who grew up with a similar lifestyle as me, that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it.
What type of fashion do you like?
-I like urban/streetwear fashion. I like trendy clothes as well, but I like wearing underrated clothing lines and help support.
What clothing lines do you look up to?
-Bape, Diamond , supreme and Nike.  All set their own type of trends and made it to the top. That’s exactly what I want to do.
Who motivates you?
-Honestly my family and success motivated me. I want to be able to support everyone. My mom, sister and friends have all been by my side and helped me since day 1.
How long have you worked as a designer?
-I’ve worked since 2010, drawing designs for others, until I started drawing my own designs.
What are some of your favorite clothing stores/catalogs/websites?
-Bape, Supreme, Diamond and Nike.
What do you believe makes a quality article of clothing?
-The time and effort put into the clothing is what makes the quality. Anyone can put a simple design on a shirt or jacket, but taking the time to make that design really shows if you’re dedicated to making fashion statements.
Do you prefer sketching designs or actually constructing them?
-I say both. I actually draw and construct my own designs , so both of them are similar to me.
How do you feel about celebrities getting all the free goodies when they are the people who can afford the goodies?
-It has it’s ups and downs, but the publicity is nice. If they can get more people to and look us up on the web and find out about us, it’s nice.
What is your favorite piece of clothing you have dropped?
-My first few drops with cheetah pockets on my jackets and baseball tess were very trendy and dope and they sold out in less than a week. I can say the next drop may be my favorite coming up soon.
Do you have anything new coming to the people in the next few months?
-I have a very nice drop coming real soon for everyone, and this week I will be releasing the galaxy tees which are very nice.
Any last words of the people?
-Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
Deuteronomy 31:6 .- You can do anything if you put your mind to it. #nlative . #onlythenativesurvive2012
