As a resident of the Crenshaw community I got the opportunity to visit the With the Lil Trap House when it was just a pop-up shop. Now the “Lil Trap House” is on the verge of taking a life of its own. They are in talks of giving the museum that is located in Los Angeles a redo. From talking with the managers of the museum they said that the plan for this museum is to make it a community staple and tourist attraction, were people all around the world can visit and leave knowing that they learned the reason why these Los Angeles hip-hop legends are so important to the people in the West Coast.
When I was told that this museum idea started in Atlanta I went to do my research. In 2018 Atlanta legend TI opened his Trap Music Museum in Atlanta. A couple of months later he decided to open a new installment of the museum in Los Angeles called the “Lil Trap House”. When it originally opened it focused on a couple of LA artists that are at face front of the LA music culture
In recent months TI decided that he wanted to rebrand the Los Angeles installment of the Trap Music Museum to tell the history of West Coast rap music. After the unfortunate passing of West Coast Legend Nipsey Hussle, he felt like there was a story to tell about all artists that have made an impact.
Growing up I listened Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Nate Dogg, NWA, Eazy E,E-40, Too Short, Mac Dre & Ice Cube. This was the perfect time to represent the impactful history of LA music. With this new branding you won’t only get a history of artists from Los Angeles but you will get the story of artists from the Bay Area and other cities in the California region. The lists of artists you will see in this museum are
Kendrick Lamar
DJ Quick
Dom KENNEDY
Mack 10
Suga Free
Schoolboy Q
03 Greedo
Dr Dre
Xzibit
Krondon
Kurupt
Cypress Hill
& Many more
When the museum opens its doors on January 1 2020 you will receive the experience of a lifetime.
