Randijah Simmons Interview

We recently sat down with upcoming LA fashion artist and got the time to get to know her a little bit and what she is all about.  To what she likes to do on her free time, to what project she has coming out next.  So check it out

Who are you and what are you all about?

-Randijah Simmons & I'm all about being GREAT. Not perfect but great. 

Where are you from?

-South Central, CA.  

  

 When did you realize you wanted to become a fashion designer?

-That's the thing; I'm not a fashion designer.  

Who motivates you?

-Mostly God, myself & customers 

Who do you look up too?

-Jesus & Yeezus 

What was your first job and what did you do with your first paycheck?

-My first official job wasn't until 11th grade & it was only for Black Friday at Foreign Exchange and I probably spent it on clothes or something.

What kind of student were you?

           

-Well, I've been a "gifted" student all my life. In elementary I was probably every mothers dream. In Middle School i just always did what was asked of me. But high school I was horrible. I only did enough, I considered myself a "C" student. Ironically, my freshman year was the hardest. I don't remember actually doing work after that.

 What are some of your favorite food places to eat at?

           

-I’m not fancy at all. I love In&Out and Chipotle... Subway has always been on my good side.

What do you do on your free time?

-On a good day I’ll go to the beach, create, and be inspired . On a bad day I'lll just sit in my room listen to music and blog.

What was the first article of clothing you ever designed?

-I think shorts. During my freshman or sophomore year so like year 2011 or  I would reconstruct denim shorts, add studs and fabrics and all that, you know what you see now…

Who are some of your favorite designers?

-Jeremy Scott off tops, you gotta love Chanel and Alexander Wang. 

How would you define your city's fashion?

 -Lazy aha nah anything goes honestly. That's why I love it; a lot of people don't understand LA fashion. 

In your whole closet what’s your favorite item in there? (Shoes, bags, clothing, etc.)

-My flannel 

What is the next piece of clothing will you be releasing?

-I have a few ideas, but I'm not sure.

Any last words for the people?  

-Be great, be vulnerable, be positive, be helpful, be accepting, be forgiving, be genuine, be empathetic and most importantly be YOU. Do what you want to do; anything is possible if you want it bad enough. Don't let anyone or anything discourage you, not even life. Make everyday count, respect others, work hard and break boundaries while doing so :)
